Margot Robbie stands up for Jacob Elordi and her role in Wuthering Heights

The Oscar-nominated actress defended both her role as Catherine Earnshaw and Elordis portrayal of Heathcliff, urging audiences to see the film before forming opinions.

Fennells interpretation of Emily Bronts classic 1847 novel has faced scrutiny since casting announcements. While Catherine Earnshaw is originally depicted as a young brunette, Robbie, a 35-year-old blonde, takes on an older version of the character in her late 20s to early 30s. Robbie acknowledged the criticism in an interview with British Vogue, saying, I get it. Theres nothing else to go off at this point until people see the movie.

Elordis casting sparked further debate because Heathcliff is described in the novel as dark-skinned. Robbie, however, expressed confidence in his performance, stating, I saw him play Heathcliff.
