Miley Cyrus Discloses Engagement Took Place In Reserved Special Location

Miley Cyrus has confirmed her engagement to Maxx Morando, describing how her personal and professional worlds are now perfectly in sync. During a lively interview on Good Morning America this week, Cyrus proudly displayed her engagement ring and revealed that Morando proposed while they were traveling in Japan.

Im usually hard to surprise because I like to be in control, but this time I let go completely, Cyrus explained. I had never been to Japan before, intentionally saving it as a special place just for me.

Reflecting on their four-year relationship, she added, Maxx and I have grown so much together. When you dream big, its wonderful to have someone by your side who always encourages you, saying, You can do it.

The GMA appearance followed their red carpet outing at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, where Cyrus showcased her ring alongside Morando, drummer for the rock band Liily. The engagement ring was designed by Jacquie Aiche, known for creating pieces for stars like Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.

Cyrus and Morando publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2022, after being romantically linked in the media for some time. Morando and his bandmates also joined Cyrus for her NBC holiday special Mileys New Years Eve Party, and they collaborated in the studio on her latest album, Something Beautiful.

Speaking to British Vogue in 2023, Cyrus recalled that their introduction was a blind date for her: The worst that can happen is I leave. She also reflected on how easily romance developed with a professional collaborator: Ive always worked with people I love. Maxx inspires me so much.

During her GMA interview, Cyrus highlighted that her theme song for Avatar: Fire and Ash, Dream as One, mirrors her current outlook: Though the film is epic in scale, at its heart its about love, relationships, and supporting each other. It feels very aligned with my life.
