Miley Cyrus officially announces engagement to musician Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus has officially confirmed her engagement to musician Maxx Morando, her partner for the past four years. The singer and three-time Grammy award winner showcased a gold and diamond ring on her finger at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.

During an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday, the 33-year-old revealed that Morando proposed while they were traveling in Asia. "Im usually hard to surprise because I like to be in control, but I completely let go, and I was genuinely, genuinely shocked," she shared.

Cyrus, known for hits such as Flowers and Party in the U.S.A, was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. They tied the knot in 2018 after a decade-long relationship but divorced in 2019.

In a 2023 interview with British Vogue, Cyrus explained that she met 27-year-old Morando through a blind date. Morando is the drummer for the Los Angeles-based band Liily, which performed on NBCs Mileys New Years Eve Party in 2022 alongside musicians including Cyruss godmother Dolly Parton and David Byrne.

Holding up her engagement ring on television, Cyrus praised Morandos choice. "Max and I have been together for four years, and its clear how much Ive grown during that time," she said. "You want someone by your side who always encourages you."

The pop stars new song, Dream as One, is featured in the latest Avatar film. Earlier this year, she released her ninth studio album but has expressed she has no plans to tour, citing the challenges of maintaining sobriety and mental health while on the road.

Cyruss engagement was publicly visible at the Los Angeles premiere, where she proudly wore the ring on the red carpet.
