Olivia Nuzzi Halts Interview Due to Alleged RFK Jr. Affair Inquiry

Olivia Nuzzi, the writer and West Coast editor at Vanity Fair, appeared visibly unsettled during a recent interview when asked about her connection with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The subject had previously garnered significant attention, ultimately contributing to her departure from New York magazine last year.

While Olivia confirmed that she had a personal relationship with the 2024 Presidential candidate, she rejected any suggestion that it was improper. Critics argued that acknowledging the relationship could represent a conflict of interest.

During the conversation on The Bulwark Podcast with host Tim Miller, the topic prompted an emotional reaction. When pressed for more details about her involvement with Kennedy, Olivia asked to pause the discussion. Tim suggested there were additional aspects of their connection she could disclose, which visibly affected her.

After regaining her composure, Olivia explained that her book had already provided readers with sufficient insight into her relationship with Kennedy. Her memoir, American Canto, has been noted for including personal text exchanges between her and the current Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been married to actress Cheryl Hines since 2014 and has six children, though none with Hines. In the interview, Tim Miller mentioned that Kennedy had criticized Olivia, questioning why she had not shared more revealing information about him. He speculated whether her restraint was due to personal feelings, even labeling her a "journalistic actor," which brought her to tears.

Olivia reflected on the difficult period following the public revelation of her relationship, admitting to fear and emotional distress. Kennedy, for his part, denied last year any accusations of infidelity.
