Paris Jackson has once again criticized the administrators of her late father, Michael Jackson's, estate, alleging that they have mishandled his $789 million fortune. In new legal filings, the 27-year-old singer claims that the estate's co-executors, John Branca and John McClain, have enriched themselves at the expense of the estate's beneficiaries. She accuses them of failing to invest funds in profitable ventures and funneling large sums of money to a team of lawyers.
The estate reportedly held over $464 million in cash without making any effort to generate income from it. Furthermore, in 2021, the estate paid $4,549,343.64 to 10 different law firms, a sum higher than what was distributed to any individual beneficiary that year. Between 2009 and 2021, the estates executors allegedly received $148 million.
According to Paris, the estates actions raise concerns that John Branca is using it to enhance his own wealth rather than protecting her fathers legacy or benefiting the heirs. Her legal filing emphasizes her growing worry over the direction the estate is taking.
The legal challenge came shortly after a judge dismissed part of Paris previous petition, which had criticized the executors and called for a detailed financial breakdown of the estates expenditures. In response, the estate's representatives called her new legal efforts "misguided," asserting that Paris legal team lost their previous case and was ordered to cover the estates legal fees. An insider claimed that all beneficiaries are being properly taken care of and described Paris actions as an attempt to shift attention after her legal defeat.
Additionally, reports suggest that the Jackson family is facing financial pressure, with Paris ongoing legal battle possibly exposing liabilities tied to three unresolved sexual abuse lawsuits against Michael Jackson. These pending lawsuits, along with the estate's alleged tax debts, have fueled fears that the familys finances could be in jeopardy. Michael Jackson, who passed away in 2009, had always denied any allegations of abuse.
Sources also indicate that there is a divide within the Jackson family regarding Paris legal moves. Some relatives are supporting her efforts, while others question why she continues to challenge the estate, leading to concerns over the mounting legal costs, as the funds are being drawn from the same pot.
