  3. Presley Gerber, Cindy Crawford's son, opens up about his frightening battle with mental health: 'I've experienced a lot of loss'

Presley Gerber, son of legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford and sibling to rising model Kaia Gerber, has candidly shared details about his mental health journey in a new Instagram video. The 26-year-old posted a black-and-white selfie video taken inside a sauna, captioning it, "Heres some clarity for ya. The truth will set you free (hopefully) haha."

In the video, Gerber outlined his current medication routine, which includes opiates, benzodiazepines, antidepressants, blood pressure medications, ketamine infusions, and gabapentin, which he referred to as "comfort meds." He explained, "The benzos have been fluctuating up and down depending on what's been going on in my life. Unfortunately, I've had a lot of loss recently, so that is not an excuse, but it's the reason why I am where I am now."

He shared specifics about his prescriptions, noting he takes Xanax sparingly at night or during severe panic attacks, and Valium in small amounts in the morning. Gerber also mentioned being prescribed 1mg of buprenorphine, an opioid often used for chronic pain. "I dont know if its a little bit or a lot, who knows at this point anymore. All these doctors say different things, so its kind of scary, but hopefully between my research, their research, and God, we can figure this out," he said. He added, "The things that scare me are the things you need to take, so if you don't take them, something bad happens."

Gerber reflected on his current care, saying he doesnt feel as guided as he would like. Despite consulting 15 psychiatrists, he hopes to find a clinician who can help him taper medications safely rather than simply maintaining him on them.

He concluded the video by expressing his desire to find a supportive community of positive influences. "I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know theres someone else going through it," Gerber said.

His mother, Cindy Crawford, responded with encouragement, writing, "We love you and you are not alone." Presley, who has walked in shows for fashion houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Calvin Klein, has previously been open about struggling with depression and making mental health a priority in his life. He shared in 2023 that his focus has shifted toward helping others facing similar challenges.

Presley Gerber Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles

In a recent Instagram video, Presley Gerber, the 26-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, shared a candid update on his mental health journey. He opened up about his current treatment plan, which involves a variety of medications such as opiates, benzodiazepines, antidepressants, ketamine infusions, and others. Gerber's openness about his mental health struggles is a step toward destigmatizing these issues, especially for those in the public eye.

Throughout the video, Gerber acknowledged the impact of recent personal losses on his well-being, explaining how these events have influenced his reliance on medications. Despite his complex treatment regimen, which includes medications like Xanax and Valium, he expressed uncertainty about the dosage and the varying opinions from his doctors. His desire for a more structured and guided approach to his care was evident, as he shared his frustration with the lack of clear guidance despite consulting numerous psychiatrists.

As Gerber continues to search for a supportive clinician, he emphasized the importance of finding a balance in his care that doesn’t simply maintain his current condition but actively works toward recovery. His hope to build a community of positive influences underscores the need for connection and support for individuals navigating similar mental health challenges.

In a heartfelt message to her son, Cindy Crawford responded with words of encouragement, reminding him that he is not alone. Gerber's willingness to speak out about his struggles serves as an important reminder of the ongoing need for open dialogue and compassion regarding mental health issues.
