Prince Harry and Stephen Colbert Share Almost Kiss on the Late Show

On the December 3 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Prince Harry made an unexpected appearance. During Colberts monologue about the abundance of royal-themed Hallmark movies, Harry suddenly appeared on stage. Just as Colbert was joking about the improbability of running into a prince by chance, Harry walked in.

When Colbert asked why he had come, Harry quipped, Sorry. I honestly thought this was the audition for The Gingerbread Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska.

Harry then joined Colbert for an interview. He commented on Americans fascination with both holiday films and royalty, noting, I heard you elected a king. Colbert acknowledged the point as the audience reacted to the reference to Donald Trump.

Harry jokingly asked, What does a real prince have to do to get into a Hallmark movie? Colbert responded that its all about connections in show business and asked if Harry knew any well-known TV actresses. I might know one, Harry said, alluding to his wife Meghan Markle, a former star of Suits.

Ill do anything, Harry added. Ill fly myself to an audition. Ill settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House. All the things TV people do! When Colbert claimed he hadnt done those things, Harry shot back, Maybe thats why youre canceled.

Suddenly, the set transformed into a Christmas movie scene with snow, trees, and a snowman. Stephen, look, Harry said, grabbing his arm. You just have to believe Isnt there a charming prince right here?

As they leaned closer and gazed at each other, it almost seemed like they would kiss. Colbert then revealed, Harry I was testing you. Youve got the role!
