Raven-Symoné Previously Ended Relationship with Now-Wife, Miranda Maday, Due to Not Being "Ready To Be With Someone of Another Race"

Raven-Symon and Miranda Maday have often been in the spotlight for reasons beyond their personal lives. Their relationship, though loving, has not escaped public scrutiny.

Last year, Miranda faced intense online harassment after admitting she was unfamiliar with some of Ravens most famous TV shows. The backlash escalated following a viral podcast clip in which she discussed Raven, prompting several harsh reactions from viewers. In response, the couple recorded a video urging fans to stop sending threats and hateful comments. Raven emphasized, It is disrespectful to her and, in turn, disrespectful to me. Stop it.

This week, the pair spoke openly on the Wide Open podcast with Ashlyn Harris about the criticism they frequently face. Miranda shared some of the accusations she encounters online, including claims that she manipulates Raven or is controlling. She admitted that the negativity can be overwhelming, especially given their focus on growing together and creating content that resonates with others.

During the conversation, Miranda revealed that early in their relationship, Raven broke up with her because she wasnt ready to be with a white person. She recalled, When we got married, Raven kind of gave me a quick, you know, This might be difficult. One of the reasons that she broke up with me was because she wasn't ready to be with a white person.

Miranda reflected on this revelation, saying she hadnt realized Raven was struggling with these feelings at the time, which was hurtful. She acknowledged that while she cannot change her own racial identity, she could have been more sensitive to Ravens experience and offered better support.

Miranda also expressed surprise at the level of online hostility she receives, noting it often stems simply from her appearance. Raven chimed in with a candid remark about facing public judgment, saying, Welcome, welcome, welcome to the party. Welcome to America.

The couple continues to navigate public scrutiny together, emphasizing mutual understanding and growth as the foundation of their marriage.
