  3. ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ Trailer Shows Samara Weaving & Kathryn Newton Hiding For Their Lives — And World Domination

After barely escaping her wedding night in Ready or Not (2019), Grace, played by Samara Weaving, returns in the eagerly awaited sequel. The first official trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, directed by Radio Silence, was released by Searchlight Pictures on Wednesday, continuing directly from the events of the original film.

Grace soon realizes that surviving the deadly game of hide-and-seek was only the beginning. Her estranged sister Faith, portrayed by Kathryn Newton, joins her in a battle not just for survival, but for the coveted High Seat of the Council, the powerful body controlling the world.

Following the shocking demise of her groom and the Le Domas family in the first movie, Grace faces a new group of affluent killers, including performances from Elijah Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Nstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and David Cronenberg. Elijah Woods character delivers a chilling warning: By surviving Hide-and-Seek, youve triggered a new game against the High Council Families. This time, the stakes are higher, and they will come for you.

The sequel is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return, reuniting with writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, promising to expand the sinister and darkly humorous world established in the first installment.

Analysis: A Bloody Game Reborn in "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come"

After Grace's terrifying ordeal in the first "Ready or Not" movie, it seemed like she had finally escaped the grip of the deadly family game. But, as the newly released trailer for the sequel reveals, surviving one game was only the beginning. "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" takes viewers deeper into the world of violence, power, and deceit. Grace’s survival instinct is put to the ultimate test once more, as she faces a new set of wealthy, lethal opponents, all while grappling with her new alliance with her estranged sister, Faith.

The trailer builds on the tension, with Elijah Wood’s character ominously warning Grace that surviving the previous game has set off an even more dangerous one: a battle for the High Seat of the Council, a position that holds immense global power. The stakes, clearly, have been raised. The introduction of an affluent group of killers, portrayed by an all-star cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Cronenberg, ensures that the plot will be filled with twists and unsettling moments. Grace, once a victim, is now a key player in a deadly new game of survival and power.

What stands out in the sequel is the shift from a family-centric horror game to a broader, more globally significant power struggle. This change in the scope, coupled with a return of the original creative team—directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett—promises an expansion of the darkly comedic tone that made the first film so unique. Fans can expect more of the same thrilling chaos, but with higher stakes and even more dangerous adversaries.

The trailer serves as a stark reminder that when it comes to "Ready or Not," surviving is never the end—it's merely the beginning of a new, even more terrifying game.
