Kimberly Park has been released from Wexford County Jail after her bail was lowered from $750,000 to $5,000. As part of her release, she must remain under house arrest and wear a GPS monitoring device at all times.
This development comes shortly after Kimberly's mother, Cortney Bartholomew, was formally charged with killing her pregnant daughter, Rebecca Park, and removing the unborn child from her womb. Rebeccas fianc, Richard Falor, was also released from the same jail on Wednesday after his bail was similarly reduced to $5,000. Both Kimberly and Falor are scheduled to return to court on December 9 for hearings related to their respective cases.
Kimberly, 21, was arrested on November 26, hours after Rebeccas body was discovered in Manistee National Forest. Rebecca had been 38 weeks pregnant and had gone missing on November 3, just days before her due date. Kimberly was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to law enforcement, and filing a false report. Details about the specific reasons for her initial $750,000 bail have not been disclosed.
Falor, 43, faced two counts of delivering methamphetamine when arraigned, and his bail was initially set at $1 million. After posting 10% of their reduced bail amounts, both he and Kimberly were released. Unlike Kimberly, Falor is not required to wear a GPS bracelet or remain under house arrest.
The charges against Cortney and her husband Bradly Bartholomew are severe. Authorities allege that the couple lured Rebecca to their home on November 3, stabbed and tortured her, and then removed her unborn child in the woods, causing the deaths of both Rebecca and the baby. The Bartholomews face multiple charges, including first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy, assault on a pregnant individual, unlawful imprisonment, and improper handling of a deceased body. They were arrested on December 1 and remain in custody. Pleas have not yet been entered.
The case has shocked the local community, with prosecutors describing the crime as premeditated and exceptionally cruel. Court proceedings for Kimberly and Falor are set for December 9, while the legal process for the Bartholomews continues.
