Blumhouse-Atomic Monster has joined forces with Paramount Pictures to develop a new theatrical chapter in the Paranormal Activity series, which has earned over $900 million globally, the studios revealed Wednesday.
James Wan is set to produce the project for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster alongside Jason Blum. Reflecting on the original film, Wan stated, Ive long admired Paranormal Activity for its masterful slow-building suspense and the way it turns the unseen into something terrifying. Im excited to expand its legacy and guide the next stage of this iconic found-footage horror franchise.
The series creator, Oren Peli, will also return as producer under Solana Films. Executive producers include Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Alayna Glasthal for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, while Steven Schneider will serve as executive producer for Room 101, Inc.
The new installment will be co-financed and co-produced by Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, with Paramount responsible for global distribution. Specific plot details have not yet been disclosed.
