RHOBH season premiere tackles Garcelle Beauvais’ sudden departure from the franchise

Bravos popular reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has launched its 15th season, bringing together returning cast members, fresh faces, and marking the absence of a notable personality. Garcelle Beauvais, the franchises first full-time Black Housewife, revealed in March that she would be leaving the show after five seasons. Her departure followed a dramatic exit from the Season 14 reunion, during which she walked off set without joining the group photo.

Since leaving, Beauvais has reportedly blocked former castmates on social media and distanced herself from those she was once close to, including Sutton Stracke. While Beauvais did not appear in Thursdays premiere, her exit was a central topic of discussion among the remaining cast.

During the episode, Stracke addressed Beauvais departure and their subsequent fallout, initially sharing few details. I had to find out in the press that she unfollowed me, Stracke revealed. In addition, she disclosed that she ended her professional relationship with her longtime assistant and house manager, Avi, surprising Erika Jayne and Kyle Richards.

Stracke clarified that there was no major drama involved in these departures. Nothing really happened. There was no drama, she said. When asked if she and Avi parted on good terms, she added, I thought that we did, but things get complicated. Beauvais and Avi have been seen together since, though Stracke did not elaborate further.

Later, at a group luncheon hosted by Richards, the cast continued speculating about Beauvais exit and her silence. Bozoma Saint John asked Stracke about her falling out with Beauvais and Avi, to which Stracke admitted the situation was difficult. That was very rough. I think what happened with Garcelle really she began, leaving the thought unfinished before Saint John pressed for more. I dont know, Stracke confessed, noting that Beauvais provided no explanation for leaving or for cutting off contact. The last time that I saw Garcelle she was walking out on me and everybody else. I texted again, and again, and again. She did not text back.

When further questioned by Dorit Kemsley, Stracke reflected on her relationship with Beauvais, realizing it may have been more of an alliance than a friendship. I loved Garcelle. We were best friends. I didnt see her as just an ally. I just dont like people to talk about her like that, she said, fighting back tears. Stracke concluded that we will never know the full story as Beauvais remains uncommunicative.

The returning Season 15 cast includes Stracke, Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, and Bozoma Saint John, joined by newcomers Amanda Frances and Rachel Zoe. Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly return in a friend of the Housewives role, with Natalie Swanston Fuller also joining the ensemble. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, with next-day streaming available on Peacock.
