Shalom Obiago from 'Christmas In Lagos' Joins Vault Entertainment

Nigerian-American actor and filmmaker Shalom Obiago, who gained widespread attention for his leading role in Prime Videos original movie Christmas in Lagos, has officially partnered with Vault Entertainment for management.

Obiago plays the character Elo in Christmas in Lagos, which marked the first original feature produced under Prime Videos initial overall filmmaker agreement in Nigeria. This agreement concluded when Prime Video later decided to discontinue funding local original projects in Africa and the Middle East.

The film premiered globally in the last season, quickly reaching the top position in Nigeria and securing spots in Prime Videos Top 10 charts across multiple countries. Released on December 20, 2023, the project held personal significance for Obiago, debuting just days before the anniversary of his fathers death. My father, Sam Obiago, was an actor, and losing him was heartbreaking, Obiago said. After his passing, I aspired to create something that would reconnect me with my roots. Christmas in Lagos became that vision brought to life.

Obiago has built a career spanning both Hollywood and Nollywood, with appearances in series such as Atlanta on FX, BMF on Starz, The Black Hamptons on BET, and P-Valley. His lead role in the short film Dont Wipe Your Tears, executive produced by John D.C. Young Fly Whitfield, earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 2024 BronzeLens Film Festival, an Oscar-qualifying event.
