'Sheriff Country' Season 2 Renewed

The CBS series set in Edgewater is returning for another season. On Wednesday, December 3, CBS officially renewed Sheriff Country for Season 2. This Fire Country spin-off, starring Morena Baccarin, currently ranks as the #2 new broadcast series, trailing only behind Boston Blue, which has also been renewed.

The announcement comes just before Episode 7 is set to air on Friday, December 5. Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, stated, Two new Friday night shows have quickly captivated audiences, with both Boston Blue and Sheriff Country performing strongly across broadcast and streaming platforms. These early renewals highlight the appeal of character-driven stories, engaging plots, and remarkable talent both in front of and behind the camera.

Sheriff Country has drawn an average of 7.6 million viewers in Nielsen Live + 7 multiplatform ratings, marking a 33% increase in its Friday 8/7c time slot compared to S.W.A.T. last season. The series consistently dominates its time period, contributing with Boston Blue to CBSs Friday night wins in total viewers since their October 17 premieres, which also frame the nights lineup including Fire Country.

Season 2 Premiere Details

An exact premiere date has not been revealed, but Sheriff Country Season 2 is expected during the 2026-2027 season. If it follows the current schedule, it could debut in October 2026. Given its strong performance on Fridays, the series may continue in the same time slot of 8/7c, though this is not yet confirmed.
