'Stranger Things' Actress Millie Bobby Brown Announces Name Change

One of Netflix's most iconic series is preparing to conclude this year, while one of its standout stars is already looking ahead to new chapters in her life. Over nearly a decade of cultural dominance, Millie Bobby Brown has emerged as the face of "Stranger Things," leveraging her fame into major roles in films such as "Enola Holmes" and "The Electric State."

Though "Stranger Things" is set to reach its conclusion on Netflix in the coming weeks, Brown recently indicated in an interview that she is ready to pursue different projects. During a conversation with VT, Brown and her co-star Noah Schnapp answered questions about each other. When Schnapp was asked to state Browns full name, he replied incorrectly, prompting the 21-year-old actress to clarify that her name had changed after marriage.

Millie Bonnie Bongiovi Brown, Schnapp guessed. Brown corrected him: Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown. Its just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. Thats it.

Brown began dating actor Jake Bongiovi in 2021, and the couple married in May 2024. Earlier this year, they announced the adoption of their first child. Jake Bongiovi, son of legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi, has also appeared in films, including Poetic License, directed by Maude Apatow and set for wide release next summer.

Looking ahead, Brown will return for the third installment of the "Enola Holmes" series and star in the romantic comedy Just Picture It, alongside Gabriel LaBelle of "The Fablemans."

Final Season of Stranger Things

The fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" launched last week with an initial four-episode release. Three additional episodes will premiere on Christmas Day, with the series finale airing on New Year's Eve. The finale will also be shown in hundreds of theaters over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, allowing fans to experience the conclusion on the big screen.

Were beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters its something weve dreamed about for years, and were so grateful to Ted, Bela and everyone at Netflix for making it happen, said the Duffer Brothers.
