Tara Reid Reportedly Unstable and Unresponsive in Chicago Hotel Hallway Before Hospitalization: 911 Call

Newly released 911 recordings suggest that actress Tara Reid was reportedly struggling to stay upright and unresponsive in a Chicago hotel hallway before being hospitalized on November 23.

According to the audio, a hotel staff member at the DoubleTree Chicago OHare Airport Rosemont, where Reid was staying called 911 shortly after midnight, stating the 50-year-old actress could barely stand and required immediate medical attention. The caller described Reid as being slurred and sometimes unresponsive.

In the recording, the staff member tells the dispatcher, She can barely stand. She can barely sit in a wheelchair. She's not responding. Sometimes she's giving unresponsive answers. Reids speech could be heard slurred in the background. The caller requested an ambulance, explaining, She might've taken something. We don't know.

The caller continued, She goes unresponsive and she wakes up and she says she's fine, but she's not. She's hanging on. She can barely walk. She's falling, while trying to get Reids attention. The recording also shows concern for her safety, with the staff member noting, She's laying on the floor in the hallway, and we don't want her to hit her head if she gets up. We just wanna make sure she's all right.

Reid was reportedly breathing normally, but unable to walk. Video obtained by TMZ showed her being transported from the hotel on a stretcher into an ambulance, speaking incoherently, and later being placed in a wheelchair.

Two days after the incident, Reid filed a police report claiming that a drink she consumed at the hotel bar may have been spiked, leaving her completely blacked out. In her statement, she said she woke up in a hospital roughly eight hours later with no recollection of events and expressed her willingness to prosecute if necessary.

The Rosemont Public Safety Department investigated the incident, reviewing hotel surveillance footage. Authorities stated that there was no evidence of tampering with Reids drink. While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink, the department said, adding that they were coordinating with Reid to review her hospital records for further insight.

The police emphasized that no criminal act has been identified and no suspect is currently under investigation. Officials also reminded the public about the importance of never leaving drinks unattended and to report any concerns about being drugged or unsafe.

Reid later issued a statement highlighting the seriousness of the incident: Bottom line is no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over 8 hours after a drink. The actress, known for her roles in American Pie and Sharknado, made a rare public appearance in March at the Los Angeles premiere of Pabrik Gula. She has upcoming projects, including the film The Dreamer Cinderella, and last appeared in the 2023 vampire movie Bloodthirst.
