Tara Reid responds to police allegations of not being drugged at hotel bar

Actress Tara Reid's claim that she was drugged at a hotel near Chicago is being questioned by local authorities after reviewing security footage. The Rosemont Public Safety Department reported that video recordings from the DoubleTree Chicago O'Hare Airport Rosemont on November 23 show no signs of her drink being tampered with.

According to local media outlets, the footage confirms that a bartender covered Reid's drink as she left the bar, which is a routine precaution. Police emphasized that the video does not show anyone adding any substance to her beverage.

Reids representative, Jane Owen, responded by highlighting that Reid was incapacitated for over eight hours, suggesting that something unusual occurred. "No one ends up in the hospital for that long after a normal drink," Owen stated.

Despite the police findings, Reid continues to insist she was drugged. She described the incident as a frightening experience that left her feeling helpless and severely affected her mental health. "I cannot sleep over this, it's a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me," Reid said.

The police noted that no criminal activity has been confirmed at this time but are awaiting hospital records that may provide results from chemical testing. Authorities advised the public to never leave drinks unattended and to contact local law enforcement if they feel unsafe or suspect being drugged.

Reid had filed a police report after the incident and cooperated fully with the investigation. Video footage released by TMZ shows hotel staff assisting Reid after she became unconscious, eventually placing her on a stretcher for transfer to emergency care. Reid mentioned she had stepped outside for a cigarette and returned to find her drink covered with a napkin she had not used, which she then drank.

The actress maintains her account of the events, calling the experience "horrifying" and emphasizing the emotional toll it has taken on her.

Analysis of Tara Reid's Claims and the Police Findings

The investigation into actress Tara Reid's claim of being drugged at a hotel near Chicago raises questions regarding the reliability of eyewitness accounts versus security footage. According to the Rosemont Public Safety Department, video evidence from the DoubleTree Chicago O'Hare Airport – Rosemont shows no indication of tampering with Reid's drink. The footage reportedly shows the bartender taking the precaution of covering Reid's drink when she left the bar, a standard procedure meant to prevent any contamination. Importantly, the video did not reveal any sign of an unknown substance being added to her beverage.

However, Reid's representative, Jane Owen, maintains that the actress was incapacitated for over eight hours, casting doubt on the normalcy of the situation. "No one ends up in the hospital for that long after a normal drink," Owen stated, highlighting the severity of Reid's condition following the incident. Despite the findings of local authorities, Reid insists she was drugged and has described the experience as a traumatic one that continues to affect her emotional well-being. In her own words, "I cannot sleep over this, it's a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me."

At this point, while the police have not confirmed any criminal activity, they are awaiting hospital records that could provide further insight, including chemical tests. As authorities continue to investigate, they remind the public to take caution and avoid leaving drinks unattended in public spaces. While Reid has cooperated with the investigation, the ongoing tension between her personal account and the police's findings suggests that the full truth may still be unfolding.
