The official runtime for the Stranger Things finale has been confirmed, and it's not the longest episode of the show

The final season of Stranger Things is currently airing, and fans can look forward to a finale that stretches to feature-film length. Netflix has confirmed that the last episode will have a runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes, giving viewers one more extended adventure with the residents of Hawkins, Indiana as they confront Vecna and the dark forces of the Upside Down.

Although impressive, this finale is slightly shorter than the season 4 conclusion, which lasted 2 hours and 19 minutes. Despite the countdown to the series end, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have meticulously plotted the closing moments for years. Ross Duffer explained that they had envisioned the final scenes as early as six or seven years ago and always knew the structure of the last 40 minutes.

Cast members and the production team have been reassuring fans that the finale will meet expectations and provide a satisfying conclusion. So far, the first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 are available on Netflix, with three additional episodes arriving on Christmas Day, and the full-length finale premiering on New Years Eve.
