Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, is currently in critical condition. On Tuesday, December 2, the 81-year-old, who was previously married to Meghans mother Doria Ragland from 1979 to 1987, was admitted to a hospital and underwent an extensive three-hour surgery before being moved to the intensive care unit.
Reports indicate that Thomas may require a second operation to remove a blood clot. His son, Thomas Jr., provided details about the emergency. We took my father to a local hospital for scans, and doctors informed us that his life was in immediate danger, he said. He was urgently transported by ambulance with sirens to a larger city hospital.
Thomas Jr. added, Dad has had emergency surgery. I ask everyone around the world to keep him in their thoughts.
Thomas daughter, Samantha Markle, also commented on his condition, expressing hope for his recovery. He is a strong man but has faced many challenges. I am praying he has the strength to survive this, she said. He has endured two heart attacks, a stroke, and even an earthquake. I hope he can overcome this crisis.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, has had a strained relationship with her father and half-siblings. She and Thomas have been estranged since 2018, following revelations that he staged paparazzi photos shortly before her wedding to Prince Harry.
