Timothe Chalamet, recently named Global Brand Ambassador for Lucid Motors, has released his debut video campaign for the electric vehicle brand. The campaign, titled Hard Launch, showcases Chalamet answering questions about excellence and passion while experiencing the full power of the Lucid Air Sapphire at the Las Vegas Speedway. The sedan, currently the fastest production electric car in the world, accelerates from 0-60 mph in under two seconds, and Chalamet reacts with unfiltered humor as launch mode is engaged.
The three-minute video blends comedy and heartfelt moments, featuring Chalamet discussing acting inspirations from Daniel Day-Lewis to Jeremy Strong, reflecting on advice from a high school teacher, and sharing surprise messages from Leonardo DiCaprio. He texted me today: I heard they shaved your head say it aint so. You good though, you rockin it, Chalamet recounts.
Joining Chalamet in the campaign are New York Knicks stars Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson, who are new collaborators for Lucid. This marks the first time all three have worked together on a Lucid project. A longtime Knicks supporter, Chalamet expressed admiration for their fearless approach to the game. They play with integrity and audacity, he said, praising their instinctive, bold style.
Brunson commented on the experience, It was great working with Timothe his energy on set was incredible and I learned a lot about him and his craft. Hart added, The moment he steps on set, its go time. Hes always supporting us, so this was fun to film together.
Lucid emphasizes that the campaign celebrates passion for excellence, self-belief, and striving for greatness, showing how pushing boundaries can define achievement. The video also highlights Lucids EV capabilities, with Chalamet driving the Lucid Air Sapphire and previously featuring the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring in his first shoot with the brand. Despite being spotted in Lucid vehicles since 2023, Chalamet only received his drivers license after moving to Los Angeles in 2018.
Having earned a Best Actor Oscar nomination for A Complete Unknown in 2024 and generating buzz for Marty Supreme, Chalamet maintains a grounded perspective on fame. Greatness is fleeting and often judged by others, he explains, adding that he enjoys the attention but always looks forward to the next challenge. Reflecting on the holidays, he said, Ill be recharging before the next wave, nodding to his role with the EV brand.
Chalamet also shared that his confidence in Hollywood continues to grow. Lucids partnership with him is multi-year and promises additional campaigns and activations in the future.
