Tori Spelling expresses gratitude for co-parenting with ex-husband Dean McDermott (Exclusive)

Tori Spelling has shared her appreciation for the positive co-parenting relationship she maintains with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott. Speaking at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on December 5, the 52-year-old actress described her relationship with McDermott, 59, as supportive and constructive since their divorce was finalized in November.

Spelling highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy environment for their five children. We do family dinners, we do everything together, so it's really good for the kids, she said. The couple shares Liam Aaron, 18, Stella Doreen, 17, Hattie Margaret, 14, Finn Davey, 13, and Beau Dean, 8.

Reflecting on her experience, Spelling noted how rare smooth divorces are, particularly in Hollywood. I watched families go through horror stories with the parents, and at the end of the day, you created beings because you had so much love between you, she explained. We love and care about each other so much, and I was shocked because everyone predicted it to be messy, but it was super easy and loving.

On her podcast, misSPELLING, she previously described the divorce as one of the easiest divorces ever despite being together for two decades. She emphasized that their commitment to co-parenting and setting a positive example for their children was central to the smooth process. While we had our ups and downs and problems throughout our marriage, we've had absolutely no problems throughout the divorce. It's a testament to the two of us and wanting to really step up for the five humans we chose to create, Spelling said.

Looking ahead to 2026, Spelling shared her hopes for a lighter and more joyful year. I feel like I've been conjuring a lot of things, and I'm seeing them all manifest. I'm taking a beat to really focus on what I want for myself, my kids, my career, and I'm watching it happen the more I believe in it happening, she added.
