Tori Spelling Reveals Her Kids Create Inappropriate Scenes with Their Elf on the Shelf (Exclusive)

Tori Spelling shared with PEOPLE that her older children have been taking over the responsibility of arranging their Elf on the Shelf this year, sometimes creating displays that required her intervention.

During a visit to PEOPLE's portrait studio at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Los Angeles, Spelling, accompanied by her daughters Stella and Hattie, revealed that she occasionally has to adjust some of her kids more risqu elf setups.

This year I handed over the elves to my kids, and theyve been really imaginative, Spelling explained. Hattie and Stella handle it most nights, but when the boys get involved, its a little unpredictable.

She humorously added that she had to step in once to change the elves positions. I came down early one morning and thought, No, this wont do, so I rearranged them, she said.

Despite the occasional need to intervene, Spelling said her youngest child, Beau, enjoys seeing the creative displays. They did a Stranger Things setup, upside-down and taped to the ceiling, she recounted. Beau hadnt seen the show, but he immediately recognized it and loved it.

Spelling also reflected on her family dynamics and co-parenting with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott. Im really grateful we maintain such a good relationship. Families often face challenges, but weve managed to make it work with love and respect, she shared. We do dinners together and everything as a family, which is wonderful for the kids.
