At the FN Achievement Awards on Wednesday, four industry leaders were welcomed into the FN Hall of Fame. Honorees included Laura OBrien, executive director of The Atlanta Shoe Market; Michael Greenberg, president and co-founder of Skechers; and the Milan-based duo Massimo and Sabrina Bonini of Massimo Bonini.

Laura OBrien was celebrated not only for her leadership at the Atlanta Shoe Market but also for her dedication to mentoring and advocacy. Her children, Nikki OBrien and Scott Conwell, presented her award, highlighting her lifelong commitment to supporting women in the industry through WiFi and the Two Ten Foundation. Nikki remarked that her mothers work has always been about serving people, while Scott noted that OBrien balanced family life with her career, attending their basketball games and cheering passionately.

Reflecting on her career journey, OBrien shared how she transitioned from a medical technology background to the footwear industry as a single mother. After securing a role at the Atlanta Shoe Market and eventually becoming executive director, she encouraged attendees to embrace opportunities and trust their own abilities. "Never be afraid to take a chance and believe in yourself," she advised.

Michael Greenberg received his Hall of Fame award from actor Howie Mandel, who humorously recounted initially claiming to be a Skechers ambassador before actually joining the brand. Greenberg reflected on Skechers achievements, including manufacturing and shipping over 4 billion pairs of shoes in 33 years, and emphasized his commitment to growing the company from 5,300 stores to 10,000 worldwide.

Shoe designer Amina Muaddi presented the award to Massimo and Sabrina Bonini, praising them for their visionary leadership and respect for creativity. Sabrina Bonini spoke about their dedication to shaping brands, supporting designers, and promoting Made in Italy craftsmanship.

The FN Achievement Awards, often dubbed the "Shoe Oscars," have for 39 years celebrated industry talent, innovation, and philanthropy. The 2025 event brought together influential figures and was supported by Caleres, Listrak, Nordstrom, Skechers, Vibram, and Wolverine Worldwide.
