Kim Kardashian praised for modeling kimono after previous backlash: 'Finally appropriate'

Kim Kardashian has unveiled exclusive behind-the-scenes images wearing a delicate pink kimono from her Hulu series Alls Fair. Sharing the photos on Instagram, she highlighted her elegant outfit and the intricate design details.

On Sunday evening, Kardashian posted a carousel showing her in a pale pink silk kimono with rich brown trim. The wide obi sash around her waist featured sparkling rhinestone-studded initials, AG, representing her character Allura Grant. The custom piece was created by multidisciplinary designer Milligan Beaumont.

For footwear, Kardashian chose brown satin Giuseppe Zanotti Ludhhovica 105 heels, pairing them with a statement diamond necklace and matching earrings. The slideshow also included shots with her full glam team, solo portraits, and a few with Alls Fair creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy.

Kardashian shared glimpses of the kimonos creation, including the inside label hand-embroidered with KIMono by Milligan. The bespoke garment showcases the attention to detail that went into crafting her look for the show.

Years ago, Kardashian announced her shapewear brand under the name Kimono, a playful nod to both her own name and the traditional Japanese robe. However, the original announcement sparked debates over cultural appropriation, leading her to rename the line Skims. Today, Skims has grown into a multi-billion-dollar global brand.

Fans of Kardashian noted the contrast in the Instagram comments, remarking, This time its appropriate, and referencing the former naming controversy. With her character Allura Grant, it seems Kardashian has successfully celebrated the kimono without sparking controversy.
