Tampa General Hospital and University of South Florida Health team up with CSMV to enhance military healthcare services

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and USF Health have officially joined the CareSource Military and Veterans (CSMV) network, broadening TRICARE Prime Demo healthcare services for military members across the United States. This collaboration is designed to give eligible beneficiaries in the Tampa, Florida areaincluding military retirees, their families, survivors, and active-duty dependentsaccess to comprehensive healthcare coverage through the TRICARE Prime Demo program managed by CSMV.
Under this partnership, TRICARE Prime Demo beneficiaries in Tampa will benefit from coverage equivalent to the standard TRICARE plan. CSMV has highlighted additional perks such as no enrollment fees for the first year, no referral requirements to see network providers, and access to a dedicated CareSource nurse advice line.
The agreement ensures that TRICARE Prime Demo patients in Tampa can access a wide array of medical specialties, including neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, dermatology, behavioral health, and urology, with care delivered by specialists from both TGH and the University of South Florida.
Current TRICARE patients who choose to participate in the demo program will continue seeing their existing providers, while new patients can take advantage of these enhanced services. TGH operates a Military and Veteran Primary Care Center, focused on addressing the unique healthcare needs of military personnel and veterans. USF Health supports the military community through its Office of Military Medical Innovation & Research, which leverages research and interdisciplinary clinical expertise to advance care for service members and their families.

Earlier this year, TGH, Lifepoint Health, and USF Health Morsani College of Medicine also announced the opening of the TGH Behavioral Health Hospital in Florida, further strengthening the regions healthcare resources for the military community.
