Morning Joe Hosts Ridicule 'Crazy' $220M Ads That Allegedly Led to Noem's Firing: 'I Pity the Horse!'

During a recent segment on Morning Joe, the hosts mocked the $220 million campaign ads associated with Kristi Noem, which they suggested contributed to her downfall. Joe Scarborough expressed his disbelief, calling the ads "crazy" and questioning the enormous financial expenditure. He remarked, "It was a campaign ad of her! It was crazy!"

The hosts aired a clip of Kennedy cautioning Noem, warning that her ad strategy placed former President Trump in an uncomfortable position. Scarborough agreed, adding, "Yeah, I mean, it certainly did. You just look at those ads and you're like, really? $220 million spent on campaign ads? Like movie shoots!" His co-host, Mika Brzezinski, joined in the ridicule, likening the ads to elaborate cinematic productions. Scarborough even pointed out that the ads resembled scenes from classic films, specifically referencing North by Northwest and its iconic shots.

As the segment continued, the hosts continued to mock the ads in a playful manner. Brzezinski sarcastically commented on the ads' dramatic cinematography, saying, "Pan off into the sky," before adding, "There she is, representing America at its best." Scarborough, not missing a beat, chimed in: "It's great cinematography. I wonder how much that cost? Oh wait, it cost $220 million!" He also remarked on the apparent attempt by Noem to shift blame onto Trump in the ads, a move that prompted further on-air ridicule from both hosts.

The ads themselves were filled with dramatic imagery, including shots of missiles and assassination attempts, which Scarborough mocked by sarcastically suggesting the intensity of the scenes. The hosts humorously speculated that Noem’s ad campaign was trying to send a message of national strength and resolve, but they found the execution of the message to be offbeat and over-the-top.

Scarborough, in his characteristic sarcastic tone, mocked one of Noem’s dramatic lines, saying: "Kristi Noem: I am America! I don’t even know what that was. Is that a scene from The Shining? It’s all so scary. Take this down! Take this down, now!" Brzezinski added to the joke, humorously concluding: "I feel bad for the horse," referencing an iconic visual in the campaign that she found particularly out of place.

The segment, which became a viral moment, not only mocked the $220 million ad campaign but also came in the midst of broader political commentary. Other topics covered in the show included rumors of Trump planning a 100,000-seat stadium for a UFC fight on his birthday and media questions about Noem’s personal life and political alliances. However, the attention quickly shifted back to Noem’s controversial campaign ads, which had become the focal point of the hosts' laughter and critique.
