Jessica Tarlov from Fox News criticizes Trump for calling for her dismissal.

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov publicly questioned the credibility of President Donald Trump's claim of a two-week ceasefire with Iran, pointing to continued missile activity in Israel, Iran, and Lebanon as evidence that the ceasefire was not being observed.

Comments on The Five

During the April 8 broadcast of The Five, Tarlov stated that the declared ceasefire was not reflected in reality, saying, “I stand, I think, in reality that there is no ceasefire.” She described observing split-screen news reports on April 7 showing both the White House announcement of a ceasefire and simultaneous missile strikes in Israel. Trump had made the announcement on April 7 following threats that an entire civilization would face destruction if Iran did not open the Strait of Hormuz. The president also mentioned that Iran had submitted a ten-point proposal, which he described as a potential foundation for further negotiations.

Evidence Against the Ceasefire

Tarlov highlighted several facts contradicting the White House claim of a ceasefire:

  • Israel continued to launch rockets in response toward Iran.
  • Lebanon experienced significant casualties amid ongoing Israeli military actions.
  • Missile attacks persisted across the region despite the official announcement.

On her social media account on platform X, she wrote, “The ceasefire was a complete fiction. While the White House announced one, missiles were still flying across Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. Reality doesn’t match the headline.”

Concerns Regarding Iran's Ten-Point Proposal

Tarlov also noted that the White House had to reconsider the ceasefire due to problematic elements within Iran's proposal, including:

  • Continued enrichment of uranium
  • Funding for proxy groups such as Hezbollah
  • Maintaining strategic leverage over the Strait of Hormuz
  • Relief from international sanctions

She mentioned that notable figures like Mark Levin and Larry Kudlow also criticized the proposal, describing it as a negative outcome. Tarlov summarized the situation by stating that the U.S. was negotiating from a weakened position and that there was never an imminent threat to the country.

History of Criticism and Trump's Response

Tarlov’s consistent criticism of Trump has elicited direct responses from the former president. Last month, Trump called into The Five, suggesting that the program would be improved without her participation. On April 6, he escalated the situation by publicly demanding that Fox News terminate her employment. On his platform Truth Social, Trump posted a message directed at Fox executives stating: “For Fox executives only, take Jessica Tarlov off the air. She is, from her voice, to her lies, and everything else about her, one of the worst personalities on television, a real loser! People cannot stand watching her. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
