On December 22, Jay revealed that he had watched a Bengals game with Nicki for the first time in fourteen yearsa game that would tragically become their last together.

In his social media post, Jay described the situation: "What should have been a routine medical procedure on Friday turned catastrophic," he wrote. Following the complication, Nicki was placed on life support as she awaited organ recipient matches, intended as her final act of generosity. Jay explained, "We will be saying our final goodbyes and removing her from the machines. My heart is shattered, and my world is obliterated."

Celebration of Life in Place of Funeral

Jay Morrison, a prominent sports writer covering the Bengals, announced he will be taking an indefinite leave from his professional duties. He informed those who knew the couple that there would be no traditional funeral service.
