The United States has confirmed airstrikes on key IRGC command centers in Iran, destroying military facilities and air defense systems. The strikes, coordinated by CENTCOM, were aimed at reducing Iran's military threat. Israel also launched airstrikes on Tehran, targeting military infrastructure amidst escalating tensions.
The United States has claimed responsibility for a series of precision strikes targeting key command centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. These coordinated attacks, led by CENTCOM (Central Command), have dismantled crucial air defense systems and missile launch sites across the Iranian landscape, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. The latest strikes have been seen as a direct response to Iran's military actions in the region, which have threatened American and allied forces.
The American military, through CENTCOM, launched a series of highly accurate airstrikes, crippling Iran's ability to defend against long-range missiles and drones. This includes the destruction of multiple IRGC facilities, air defense structures, and military airfields. These actions have been part of a broader strategy aimed at weakening Iran’s military infrastructure and reducing its capacity to threaten U.S. interests in the Middle East.
While the Pentagon has yet to release an official investigation or verification of these claims, CENTCOM has confidently stated that their operations have neutralized key Iranian military capabilities. The military's latest operations were seen as an answer to the increasing threat posed by Iranian-backed militias and the ongoing instability in the region.
On Monday, a fresh wave of airstrikes, coordinated by CENTCOM, swept across the Persian Gulf. Eleven Iranian vessels were reportedly destroyed, and significant damage was inflicted upon military installations and missile launch sites. The attacks were designed to cripple Iran’s ability to launch further offensive strikes, especially with regard to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missile systems.
Despite these successful military operations, six U.S. service members were tragically killed during retaliatory strikes by Iran over the weekend. These attacks targeted U.S. military bases in Kuwait, where the Iranian military mistakenly downed three F-15E fighter jets, though the pilots managed to eject and were safely recovered.
The conflict has also seen continued Israeli involvement. On Monday, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple Iranian military sites, focusing on Iran’s air defense infrastructure, missile platforms, and radar installations. Explosions echoed through Tehran as Israeli aircraft launched precision strikes on key military facilities connected to Iran’s ballistic missile operations. In addition to these operations, Israeli jets hit facilities in Lebanon, with a particular focus on Hezbollah positions along the border, further intensifying the ongoing regional conflict.
Reports from Tehran confirm that explosions were heard throughout the city and into the early hours of Tuesday morning, as Israel continued its offensive against Iranian targets. Meanwhile, residents in Niloufar Square reported extensive damage to residential buildings due to the aerial bombardment, underscoring the severe impact of these military operations on civilian infrastructure.
The violence has not been confined to Iran alone. In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes have resulted in significant casualties, with at least fifty-two people killed and nearly one hundred and fifty others wounded in southern Beirut. Hezbollah has confirmed its involvement in the conflict, claiming responsibility for an attack on Israel's Ramat David Airbase. The militant group used drones to target radar sites and control rooms, escalating the regional conflict further.
The international community has expressed growing concern about the toll of the ongoing military campaign on civilians. Senior officials from the United Nations, including Vanessa Frazier, the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, and Najat Maalla Mjid, the Special Representative on Violence Against Children, have called for an immediate halt to the hostilities. They have condemned the attacks on civilian infrastructure such as schools and hospitals and urged all parties to adhere strictly to international humanitarian law.
Iranian authorities have reported the tragic loss of at least 165 schoolchildren and staff members in a recent strike on a primary school in Minab, a city in southern Iran. Furthermore, nine hospitals across the country have sustained severe damage, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing airstrikes. The UN’s call for maximum restraint highlights the growing global alarm over the escalating violence and its devastating impact on innocent civilians.
