Nearly 700000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue saut pans sold at Costco Walmart and Amazon are being recalled across multiple states due to detachable metal caps posing burn and injury risks consumers are urged to stop using affected pans and request refunds immediately
Shoppers in multiple states, including South Dakota, are being alerted to a large-scale recall affecting almost 700,000 saut pans sold at prominent retailers such as Costco, Walmart, and Amazon. The recall has been initiated due to a safety hazard involving detachable metal caps on the pans, which pose risks of injury when exposed to heat.
Details of the Recall
On April 2, E Mishan & Sons, a New York-based importer and distributor of consumer products, announced the recall of approximately 740,000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Saut Pans. The recall follows reports from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) documenting over 100 incidents in which the metal caps became detached during use, creating a potential for burns and impact injuries. Among these reports, one individual suffered notable injuries from the sudden detachment of the cap.
Products Included
The affected products are the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Saut Pans, which are made from stainless steel. The pans are available in several sizes, including:
- 10-inch diameter
- 11-inch diameter
- Sets containing two 5-inch diameter pans
The Universal Product Code (UPC) associated with the recalled pans is 0-80313-08131-6. The affected cookware was sold primarily at Costco, Walmart, and through Amazon.com.
Sale Period and Pricing
The recalled pans were sold between August 2021 and February 2026. Each set of pans retailed for approximately $40.
Consumer Guidance
Consumers who have purchased these saut pans are advised to:
- Stop using the recalled cookware immediately to prevent potential injuries.
- Contact E Mishan & Sons to request a full refund for the affected product.
- Return the pans according to the company’s instructions to receive reimbursement.
The company is actively working to notify consumers and ensure they can receive refunds. The recall is intended to prevent further incidents caused by the detachment of the screw cap during heating.
Safety and Response
This recall affects nearly 700,000 kitchens across multiple states. Only pans verified as Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel are part of this recall. Consumers are urged to confirm their product’s identification and request refunds without delay. E Mishan & Sons, in coordination with the CPSC, is prioritizing the safety of consumers and implementing a comprehensive response to resolve this issue efficiently.
