Fans of James Bond can take advantage of significant discounts on several 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray collections during Amazon's Cyber Monday sale. One of the best deals is The James Bond Collection, a 24-film Blu-ray set, now priced at $55, down from $120.
This box set covers all James Bond films from Dr. No (1962) to Spectre (2015), with each movie on a separate disc in 1080p HD and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. The set also includes over 120 hours of special features and is packaged in a slipcase with three oversized cases and a white slipcover showcasing all six actors who played Bond. Note that Daniel Craigs final Bond film, No Time to Die (2021), is not included.
4K Blu-ray Collections
For fans looking for high-resolution editions, only movies starring Daniel Craig and Sean Connery are currently available in 4K Blu-ray.
Daniel Craig 5-Film 4K Blu-ray Collection
This 10-disc set, featuring all five Daniel Craig Bond films, is on sale for $35 (down from $90). The 4K UHD discs support Dolby Vision and HDR10. Audio options include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 for the first three films and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 for Spectre and No Time to Die, with Dolby Atmos support on No Time to Die. The set also includes behind-the-scenes content on 1080p Blu-ray discs. The collection is also available on DVD for $21.
Sean Connery 6-Film 4K Blu-ray Collection
Released in June, this collection marked the first availability of Connerys Bond films on 4K. Priced at $80 (was $105), it includes six films restored in native 4K, supporting Dolby Vision, HDR10, and three audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 7.1, and DTS-HD 2.0 Mono. Extras include audio commentaries, featurettes, retrospectives, and promotional galleries. This collection also originally shipped with digital copies.
Standalone Sean Connery 4K Editions
Amazon offers individual 4K releases of Connerys films at discounted prices:
- From Russia With Love (1963) $13 (was $30)
- You Only Live Twice (1967) $14.51 (was $30)
Purchasing all six standalone films totals around $85, making it a good option for collectors who prefer individual cases. The exception is Dr. No at $17.
Additional Notes
Sean Connery also returned as Bond in 1983's Never Say Never Again, which is not part of the Eon Productions catalog and thus excluded from these collections. Similarly, the 1967 Casino Royale starring David Niven is outside the main series. Earlier this year, Eon Productions sold creative control of the franchise to Amazon MGM Studios. While the next Bond actor and film release date remain unknown, a new James Bond video game is scheduled for March next year.
Cyber Monday sale ends December 1.
Analysis: Amazon's Cyber Monday Sale – A Golden Opportunity for James Bond Fans
The ongoing Cyber Monday sale on Amazon offers James Bond enthusiasts significant savings on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray collections. The standout deal remains The James Bond Collection, a 24-film Blu-ray set, now priced at $55, down from $120. This comprehensive collection offers fans a complete Bond experience from 1962's Dr. No to 2015's Spectre. The high-definition 1080p transfers, combined with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, ensure an immersive viewing experience. However, it's important to note that the set excludes Daniel Craig's No Time to Die (2021), which fans may find disappointing.
For those seeking an even more advanced viewing experience, the 4K Blu-ray collections also feature selections from both Daniel Craig and Sean Connery's Bond films. The Daniel Craig 5-Film 4K Blu-ray Collection is available for just $35, down from $90, offering Dolby Vision and HDR10 support across five films. Similarly, Sean Connery’s 6-Film 4K Blu-ray Collection is priced at $80, offering restored native 4K resolution with Dolby Atmos and HDR10 support. For collectors, Amazon also offers individual 4K editions of Connery's films at discounted prices, with From Russia With Love and You Only Live Twice among the top bargains.
While these discounts provide excellent value for both new fans and collectors alike, there are some notable exclusions. Notably, Connery's Never Say Never Again (1983) and the 1967 version of Casino Royale are not part of these collections, as they fall outside the Eon Productions catalog.
It’s also worth considering that Eon Productions sold creative control of the Bond franchise to Amazon MGM Studios earlier this year. With the next actor and film yet to be confirmed, the Bond universe is entering a period of transition. Fans will have to wait for more information, but there is excitement around the upcoming James Bond video game set for release next March.
In conclusion, the Cyber Monday sale offers a rare opportunity for fans to own key entries in the Bond franchise at a fraction of the price. Whether upgrading to 4K or completing a Blu-ray collection, these deals should not be missed, but customers need to act fast, as the sale ends on December 1.
