Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are reportedly extremely upset after their son Dylan faced humiliation during a political roundtable with CNN commentator Scott Jennings. Dylan reportedly began stammering and appeared flustered in the middle of the discussion, a moment that insiders say has become a topic of private ridicule. Sources claim that the couple now plans to sever ties with CNN, feeling that the network overstepped professional boundaries.
Parents 'Furious' Over Interview
According to insiders speaking to Rob Shuter's #ShuterScoop, the couple's reaction to Dylans troubled interview was intense. Both Douglas and Zeta-Jones are said to be so upset that they are considering blacklisting CNN entirely. Zeta-Jones has reportedly told friends that the interview felt "unfair and exploitative," referring to how Dylan was visibly thrown off by some of the questions. Douglas reportedly shares the same sentiment, stating to his close circle that the network "crossed a line."
Sources suggest that part of the couple's frustration stems from knowing Dylan was unprepared for such a confrontational discussion. "Dylan has always been cherished and protected. CNN gave him a glimpse of the harsh realities, and his parents despised witnessing it," one source explained.
Dylan's CNN Debate
Dylan joined CNN for a Monday roundtable with Scott Jennings to discuss the recent Senate passage of a funding bill aimed at reopening the government. During the exchange, Dylan blamed Republicans for the prolonged shutdown, while Jennings attributed it to Democrats. The conversation intensified when Jennings presented detailed statistics and figures, leaving Dylan visibly unsettled and struggling to respond. The young political enthusiast's difficulty became especially pronounced when the topic turned to the expiring Affordable Care Act tax credits.
Douglas and Zeta-Jones Celebrate 25 Years of Marriage
Amid the controversy, the couple recently celebrated a major personal milestone: their 25th wedding anniversary. Both shared heartfelt tributes on social media, with Zeta-Jones reflecting on the wedding day and Douglas expressing his enduring love. "25 years ago today, I walked down the aisle," Zeta-Jones wrote, sharing nostalgic photos. Douglas responded with: "Happy 25th anniversary, my darling Catherine. Who knew? All my love, Michael."
Marriage Strains Amid Busy Schedules
Prior to their anniversary celebrations, insiders suggested that the couple's marriage had faced pressure due to Zeta-Jones busy career and Douglas more relaxed schedule. "Shes focused on her work and shows no sign of slowing down," a source told the Globe. Douglas reportedly feels lonely at home, though he is supportive of his wife's ambitions. "He wants her to be happy, but with the kids grown and gone, he often finds himself bored and alone," the insider added.
