'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' now streaming on Netflix: What you need to know about the docuseries produced by 50 Cent

Netflix has unveiled its latest docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a four-part production executive produced by rapper 50 Cent. The series delves into the life and career of Sean Diddy Combs while exploring sexual abuse allegations and a high-profile lawsuit filed in November 2023 by R&B singer and Combss former partner, Casandra Ventura.

Director Alexandria Stapleton collaborated with 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) to bring the series to fruition. As a woman in the industry, witnessing the #MeToo movement and watching major figures face trials when Cassie filed her lawsuit, I realized the story could unfold in countless directions, Stapleton told Netflixs Tudum. She added that Venturas courage to challenge a music mogul highlighted whether society has evolved in addressing such accusations fairly.

In October 2025, Combs was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of transporting women for sex marathons fueled by drugs. A jury found him guilty on two counts related to transporting Ventura and another woman, identified as Jane, for prostitution.

Release Details

Sean Combs: The Reckoning is now streaming on Netflix, with all four episodes released on December 2. The platforms official description notes that the series includes intimate footage captured with Combss awareness in the six days leading up to his arrest and indictment, during an ongoing federal investigation.

The docuseries features interviews with individuals including Aubrey ODay of Danity Kane, as well as jurors from Combss trial earlier this year. Stapleton emphasized that the documentary aims to caution against the dangers of idolizing celebrities. This story is ultimately a mirror for the public, showing the consequences of placing people on a pedestal, she said.

50 Cents Involvement

50 Cent serves as an executive producer of the series, describing it as part of his dedication to authentic storytelling. Ive been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television, Jackson said. He expressed gratitude to those who shared their experiences and praised Stapletons direction for bringing the story to screen.

Jackson also explained his motivation: to publicly denounce Combss behavior. Staying silent could have sent the wrong message about hip-hops stance on this conduct, he stated on Good Morning America. Despite the critical subject matter, Jackson believes Combs might recognize the documentarys honesty if he chooses to watch it.

Sean Combs Response

Combs has publicly criticized the docuseries, accusing Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos of a personal breach of trust. He described the series teaser shown on Good Morning America as using stolen footage and called the documentary a shameful hit piece designed to exploit his life for media attention. He also highlighted that Curtis 50 Cent Jackson, a long-time rival, oversaw the project, framing it as biased and vindictive.
