A newly released email from Wayfarer Studios indicates that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were present when Ryan Reynolds confronted Justin Baldoni. The incident reportedly took place during an April 2023 meeting related to Blake Lively's concerns over perceived fat-shaming on the set of It Ends With Us.

The email, unsealed as part of ongoing litigation, was sent in July 2024 by Wayfarer co-founder Jamey Heaths team to Baldonis publicist. It outlines that on April 25, 2023, Baldoni visited Reynolds and Lively's New York penthouse, where Reynolds reportedly criticized him for inquiring about a womans weight. The email claims that Reynolds said Baldoni was fat-shaming Blake, causing Baldoni to feel embarrassed and apologize.

According to the document, Swift, 35, and Jackman, 57, were also present during the exchange. Representatives for both celebrities have not commented on the matter.

Lively, 38, filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, and others in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, which Baldoni denies. The trial is scheduled for March 2026. Swift and Jackman are listed among potential witnesses in Livelys case.

Jackman publicly supported Lively by attending the August 9, 2024 premiere of It Ends With Us in New York, posing alongside the actress and Reynolds. Jackman and Lively also appeared together on the September 2024 cover of Vogue.

Swifts name has appeared in legal filings, and Baldonis team attempted to subpoena her in May 2024. Her representatives emphasized that she had no involvement with the films production or creative decisions, stating she only permitted the use of one song and saw the movie weeks after its release while touring globally in 2023 and 2024.

Livelys amended complaint alleges that Baldoni criticized her body and weight behind the scenes, including contacting her trainer without her consent, implying she needed to lose weight quickly. In his $400 million countersuitlater dismissedBaldoni explained he contacted the trainer for safety reasons, related to lifting scenes due to his own back issues.

During the April 2023 meeting, Baldoni claimed that Reynolds angrily confronted him, accusing him of fat-shaming Lively, and that the confrontation was intense enough that Baldoni repeatedly apologized for what he considered a reasonable question. Baldoni also referenced another meeting in January 2024 where he said Reynolds was critical but not aggressive.

Analysis: The Growing Tension Surrounding the "It Ends With Us" Controversy

The recently released email from Wayfarer Studios reveals new details about the confrontation between Ryan Reynolds and Justin Baldoni in April 2023. This exchange, which reportedly took place in the presence of Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman, sheds light on the escalating tensions that have marked the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the film It Ends With Us. The email specifically references Reynolds’ criticism of Baldoni for allegedly fat-shaming Blake Lively, a topic that has since become central to the ongoing legal battles involving Lively, Baldoni, and others.

While the incident in question may seem like a private confrontation, its implications go far beyond a mere disagreement. The involvement of celebrities like Swift and Jackman, both of whom are mentioned as potential witnesses in Lively’s lawsuit, signals the high-profile nature of the dispute. Lively's claims of sexual harassment and retaliation against Baldoni, coupled with her allegations of body-shaming, have added a complex layer to the legal case. With the trial set for March 2026, these revelations will likely continue to play a key role in shaping public perceptions and legal outcomes.

The core of this controversy revolves around issues of body image and professional conduct, making it a matter that not only affects those directly involved but also resonates with a wider audience. As the legal process continues, one thing is clear: this is no longer just about a film's production. It has become a battleground over the values of respect, consent, and the treatment of individuals in the public eye. Whether or not Reynolds' confrontation with Baldoni will have a lasting impact on the outcome of Lively’s case remains to be seen, but it has undoubtedly brought these sensitive issues to the forefront.
