In a recent cover feature for Rolling Stone UK, FKA twigs shared insights about working with North West on her latest project, Eusexua. The 12-year-old rapped in Japanese on the track Childlike Things, a song twigs originally wrote when she was around 12 or 13 years old.

I was genuinely struck by her observations on humilitythey were straightforward yet profoundly true, reflecting many lessons Ive learned as an adult, twigs said of North West.

The English singer, whose real name is Tahlia Debrett Barnett, discussed how meaningful the collaboration was for her. She noted that North, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, displayed emotional maturity beyond her years. We shared several dinners together, and she expressed ideas that were deep and insightful. I was taken aback by how perceptive she was, twigs explained.

Twigs described writing Childlike Things as a full-circle experience. I was bullied in school and didnt have a close friendship at the time, so this song became healing. Bringing someone like North West into the mix, a confident and tenacious presence, gave my younger self the companion I lacked, she shared.

North West has also appeared on other musical projects this year, including Christian King Combs track Lonely Roads.

FKA twigs has released three other studio albums, including LP1, Magdalene, and Eusexua Afterglow, the deluxe edition of her latest work. Regarding Eusexua, twigs described the album as precise and carefully crafted. Listening to it now, every sound feels like a frozen moment, crystallized and deliberate, she said. It represents the most distilled version of my intended message.

She added, Eusexua shows that while an idea can be perfect at a certain moment, its natural for things to evolve and change over time.

FKA twigs Reflects on Her Collaboration with North West

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK, FKA twigs opened up about her collaboration with North West on the track "Childlike Things." The 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West rapped in Japanese, a moment that struck twigs deeply. She described North’s insights on humility as “straightforward yet profoundly true,” highlighting the emotional maturity that the young artist exhibited during their work together.

For twigs, the project was deeply personal. She revealed that "Childlike Things" was a song she wrote in her youth, a reflection of her own experiences with bullying and loneliness. Collaborating with North West, who brought a “confident and tenacious” presence to the table, allowed twigs to connect with her younger self and heal from past struggles. The collaboration, marked by dinner discussions filled with North’s “deep and insightful” ideas, proved to be a transformative experience for the artist.

Twigs also shared her thoughts on her latest album, Eusexua, describing it as the most "precise and carefully crafted" of her works. The album, which includes the deluxe edition "Afterglow," represents a crystallized moment in time. As twigs explained, the project captures her most distilled message, showing how even a perfectly executed idea can evolve over time.
