Ethan Zane Browne, the eldest child of musician and songwriter Jackson Browne, has passed away at the age of 52. His death was confirmed through a statement on Jackson Brownes Instagram account:

"It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away. We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time."

Ethan was born on November 2, 1973, and just six months later appeared in his fathers arms on the cover of Rolling Stone. In the article, Jackson Browne reflected on his early experiences with fatherhood, saying, "I wanted a baby cause I wanted to be a baby. I play with [Ethan] all the time; theres something pure about it. Look at all those expressions hes got. Hes a real kick in the ass."

Tragically, in 1976, when Ethan was three, his mother Phyllis Major, whom Jackson had married a year prior, died by suicide. In 1981, Jackson Browne remarried, this time to model Lynne Sweeney, and they had another son, Ryan, in 1982.
