On X, Bieber is still 9.7 million followers away from reaching the 100 million mark. This sparked discussions among fans, who began debating what could have caused the decline.

Some users suggested that Instagram might have removed a large number of accounts to eliminate bots. One fan commented, Every bot purge hits him for like 12M followers.
