Sean 'Diddy' Combs Criticizes 50 Cent's Netflix Docuseries as 'Shameful'

Sean Diddy Combs, once celebrated as a music industry icon, has recently voiced strong objections to a Netflix docuseries produced by 50 Cent, which explores Diddys personal life and legal issues. The currently imprisoned rapper labeled the series a shameful hit piece and accused Netflix of including unauthorized footage. These statements were conveyed through his spokesperson.

Legal Troubles and Career Highlights

In October 2025, Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison, with credit for 12 months already served. The sentence followed charges including federal sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering. Prior to these legal issues, Combs was one of the most influential figures in music, credited with launching the careers of artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Usher.

Controversy Over the Netflix Series

The new series, produced by his longtime rival 50 Cent, is set to premiere on December 2, 2025. Diddys team has raised objections, claiming the show contains private footage, pre-indictment materials from an unfinished project, and sensitive conversations related to legal strategies. According to Diddys spokesperson, the material was used without authorization.

Todays GMA teaser confirms that Netflix relied on stolen footage that was never authorized for release, said Diddys representatives. As Netflix and CEO Ted Sarandos know, Mr. Combs has been collecting footage since he was 19 to tell his own story, in his own way. It is fundamentally unfair, and illegal, for Netflix to misappropriate that work.

None of this was obtained from Sean Combs or his team, and its inclusion raises serious questions about how the material was accessed and why Netflix chose to use it, the statement added.

50 Cents Response

Despite the accusations, 50 Cent has stressed that the documentary is not motivated by a personal vendetta against Diddy. The series, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, will be available on Netflix starting December 2, 2025.
