Eleven, Steve Harrington, Max Mayfield, and the rest of the beloved characters from Stranger Things are back as the hit sci-fi series launches its fifth season. Starting today, November 28, fans can also enjoy music featured in the new episodes.
The digital version of Season 5, Volume 1 is now available, featuring classic pop and rock hits from ABBA, Michael Jackson, The Psychedelic Furs, Tiffany, and more. Volume 2 will be released online on December 26, followed by Volume 3 on January 1, 2026, which will compile all three volumes along with bonus content.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, the complete Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 5 will be released on CD, vinyl, and red cassette via Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Vinyl editions will include standard black, Amazon-exclusive red smoke, Target-exclusive blue smoke, Walmart-exclusive orange marble, and a yellow marble version exclusive to the Sony Music Store.
This three-part soundtrack release aligns with the staggered rollout of the fifth and final season, which began with the first four episodes premiering on November 26. Netflix teased the season with an official trailer in October, featuring a remix of Queens Who Wants To Live Forever, originally from the 1980s sci-fi action film Highlander.
The soundtrack was conceptualized and produced by the Duffer Brothers and two-time Grammy nominee, Emmy winner Nora Felder, and is available for pre-order.
Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has immersed viewers in the 1980s and the mysterious Upside Down, becoming a cultural phenomenon along the way. The show has launched the careers of its young stars while elevating veteran actors, and its music selections have consistently resonated with fans. Season 4 famously revived Kate Bushs 1985 hit Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) into a global chart-topper, while Metallicas Master of Puppets entered the Billboard Hot 100 following its appearance in the season finale.

Author's Commentary: Stranger Things Season 5 Soundtrack – A Perfect Nostalgic Blend
With the long-awaited release of Stranger Things Season 5, fans are not only treated to a fresh set of episodes but also an incredible soundtrack that mirrors the show's signature 1980s aesthetic. Starting today, November 28, music from the new season is available, with the first volume of the soundtrack offering an eclectic mix of pop and rock hits. The combination of classic tracks from ABBA, Michael Jackson, The Psychedelic Furs, and Tiffany creates an emotional backdrop that resonates deeply with the show's themes of friendship, danger, and supernatural forces.
This soundtrack release strategy, with staggered volumes, keeps the excitement building throughout the season's rollout. Volume 1 has already launched digitally, with the subsequent volumes to follow in December and January. For collectors, the physical release promises a range of unique vinyl and cassette editions, offering fans a chance to own a piece of the show's cultural legacy. This approach not only capitalizes on the ongoing popularity of Stranger Things but also reflects the show's cultural impact, with each volume serving as both a companion to the series and a standalone musical experience.
What stands out with this release is the careful curation and production by the Duffer Brothers and Grammy nominee Nora Felder. The team's attention to detail ensures that the soundtrack doesn't just accompany the show—it amplifies its emotional and nostalgic weight. Given the show's history of resurrecting forgotten classics (like Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and Metallica’s “Master of Puppets”), it's clear that the music in Season 5 will once again shape global pop culture trends.
In conclusion, Stranger Things Season 5 isn't just the end of an era for the characters we’ve come to love—it's also a celebration of the music that defined a generation. Fans will no doubt continue to revisit the tracks from the new soundtrack long after the final episode airs, ensuring that the show's cultural influence endures well beyond its conclusion.
