Erika Kirk Considers Running: JD Vance's Potential 2028 Run Sparks Interest

In the months following the tragic assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk, his widow and current CEO of Turning Point USA, has risen to prominence within the MAGA movement.

Recently, attention has focused on her apparent friendship with Vice President JD Vance. The two were seen sharing a close moment after she introduced him at a Turning Point USA event, fueling speculation online.

At the DealBook Summit in New York, Erika was asked directly whether she might support Vance if he runs for president in 2028. Her response was cautious and noncommittal.

"He's a dear friend. My husband and him were very good friends. I think you remember when he supported him for the Senate, and they had a great time doing that race together...and he supported JD for that."

She further explained,

"I do have to say, yes, we adore JD and my husband was very vocal about endorsing him, but I do have to preface this by noting that as humans we have short attention spans and memories."

Kirk emphasized the importance of appreciating her late husband's efforts in recent elections and the outcome of having a president in office whom they supported.

"I would ask that we enjoy the fact that my husband worked so hard for the past election. I think it would behoove us to recognize that effort and take pride in the result."

Reactions to her remarks were swift, with many finding her comments unusual. Observers suggested her avoidance of a clear answer might hint at her own political ambitions for 2028, while others criticized the fluctuating loyalties within the MAGA movement.
