Kash Patel Responds to Report of Demanding an FBI Raid Jacket

FBI Director Kash Patel strongly rejected a recent report highlighted in a New York Post op-ed, which criticized his leadership and questioned his professionalism, labeling him as over his head and describing his deputy, Dan Bongino, in unflattering terms.

The 115-page document, compiled from multiple anonymous sources within the FBI, painted a chaotic picture of the bureau under Patel, calling it a rudderless ship and asserting that he spends excessive time on social media and public appearances. Patel addressed the allegations on Fox News The Ingraham Angle, emphasizing that the report was driven by individuals from the Comey-Wray era who undermined the Department of Justice and eroded public trust in the FBI.

One incident highlighted in the report involved Patel during the investigation of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirks assassination in Utah on September 11. The report claimed Patel refused to leave the plane without an FBI raid jacket, eventually receiving a jacket from a female agent, but allegedly objected to missing Velcro patches on the sleeves until they were patched by other agents.

Patel denied the account, stating that the story was 100% false and explained that an agent handed him a jacket upon arrival in Utah for the command center, which he wore with pride along with a SWAT unit badge.

Additionally, Patel faced criticism for using a $60 million FBI aircraft to see his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, perform in Pennsylvania. He defended the decision, explaining that flying commercially was not permitted for him and noting that he had used the FBI plane less than his predecessors. Patel emphasized his right to a personal life, stating that he fully supports his partner and occasionally travels with her.
