Tapper asked if the FBI or the military had contacted him following a video he and five other Democrats shared, urging service members to refuse illegal orders. President Donald Trump has reacted furiously to the video, labeling it seditious behavior and suggesting it should be punishable by death.

The court-martial, Hegseth told me via a tweet. How ridiculous is that? This is not normal, it doesnt make sense. A tweet is how I got notified. Thats all Ive heard from the Navy, Kelly said. And that really speaks to Pete Hegseth.

The notification referred to an X post by the Department of War on November 24, which stated it was performing a thorough review to determine if a court-martial was necessary. In a video shared by Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) last month, Kelly told military personnel that threats to the Constitution come not just from abroad, but also from within the country.

The other Democrats in the video included Representatives Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Jason Crow (D-CO), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), who have backgrounds in the Navy, Army, Air Force, and CIA.
