Pirro describes suspected DC pipe bomber as 'reserved,' shares details of his 'low-profile' personal life

Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, provided details about the lifestyle of Brian Cole Jr., the man arrested in connection with pipe bombs placed in Washington, D.C., during an appearance on "The Ingraham Angle."

Federal authorities apprehended 30-year-old Cole from Virginia on Thursday, following a nearly five-year investigation that analyzed millions of data points. Pirro described him as living a largely secluded life with his mother.

"He kept to himself, always wearing headphones, walking his dog, visiting the local 7-Eleven. Very low-profile," Pirro explained.

Cole is suspected of planting two pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 6, 2021, as rioters marched toward the Capitol. FBI surveillance footage captured him placing the devices near the buildings.

"Hes an individual so quiet that you would never imagine him assembling a pipe bomb," Pirro said. She noted that cell phone data and video footage helped authorities confirm his movements in the area at the time.

The explosives recovered by law enforcement were confirmed as functional devices capable of causing serious injury or death. Pirro stated that Cole had been monitored for some time before his arrest and that he had minimal social media presence.

"His closest connections are family. He lives with his mother and sisters, works a few hours daily, and his father ran a bail bonds business," Pirro added.

During the search of Cole's home, authorities discovered multiple components for constructing pipe bombs. Pirro said he had been acquiring such materials since 2019, showing a clear and persistent interest in explosives.

Pirro credited the investigations progress to the Trump administration, asserting that prioritizing the case was crucial to public safety. "A societys sense of security relies on holding criminals accountable, and this case demonstrates that principle," she said.

Cole remains in federal custody, facing charges related to the possession and use of explosive devices, with potential additional charges under review.
