Probe initiated into deadly apartment fire

Authorities have reported that one individual has lost their life following a fire at an apartment in Doncaster. Fire crews were dispatched to the residence on Fieldside in Thorne shortly before midnight on Saturday and battled the flames until around 4:00 AM BST on Sunday.

In addition to the fatality, four residents received medical attention after inhaling smoke, according to a spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

An official inquiry has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
