Trump Claims His Administration Is Discovering Previously Unseen Funds

President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that his administration is uncovering funds that had not been recognized before, including resources related to the tariff shelf.

During a press session in the Oval Office, Trump was asked if he planned to renegotiate the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which was enacted during his first term. It expires in about a year, he said. Mexico and Canada have taken advantage of the United States like many other countries, to be fair. In reality, the USMCA is set to expire in 2036, and officials from the three nations are expected to review the deal next year.

Trump then digressed into a discussion about discovering unexpected revenue through tariffs he imposed on imports from numerous countries. We had a lot of unwise people running the country, which is why we have $38 trillion in debt. But thanks to tariffs, well begin reducing that debt. Funds are being uncovered in our country that no one knew existed. Recently, $30 billion showed up. I asked, Where did that come from? and they said, Check the tariff shelf. At first, they said the tariff hadnt started yet, but I told them it began two months ago. Eventually, they realized it was from tariffs. Now, our country is in a completely different position.

The president also expressed his hope that the Supreme Court would uphold the constitutionality of the tariffs. Last month, several justices, including those appointed by Trump, questioned the authority of the president to impose broad tariffs unilaterally. I hope the Supreme Court understands how critical this is. It could be catastrophic for the country if it fails, he said, adding that those challenging the tariffs in court were bad people.
