PALM BEACH, Florida Sarah Beckstrom, a member of the National Guard who was injured in the Washington shooting on Wednesday, has succumbed to her injuries, according to U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday.

"Sarah Beckstrom from West Virginia, one of the guardsmen involved, was highly regarded, young, and remarkable. Sadly, she has passed away and is no longer with us," Trump stated during his first live comments following the incident.
