President Trump is considering changes to his cabinet, with several senior officials potentially facing dismissal. The decisions are not finalized, creating uncertainty within the administration as key figures remain under review for possible removal.

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing the removal of several senior officials from his cabinet, according to a report from The Atlantic on Thursday. While the specific timing of these potential changes remains uncertain, sources familiar with the matter have named a few key figures who may be dismissed.

Key Officials Under Consideration

Among the officials under scrutiny for possible removal are:

  • FBI Director Kash Patel
  • Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll
  • Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer
  • Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick

Despite ongoing discussions, The Atlantic reports that President Trump has yet to make any final decisions regarding these potential dismissals. The timing of the changes remains unclear, creating uncertainty within the administration.

White House Response

In response to the report, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle defended the current cabinet, highlighting its achievements. Ingle emphasized that Trump has assembled "the most talented cabinet and team in American history." He also praised the work of the individuals mentioned, including Kash Patel, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Daniel Driscoll, calling them "patriots" who are dedicated to advancing the President’s agenda and delivering significant results for the American people.

Recent Cabinet Changes

The Atlantic’s report comes in the wake of several high-profile departures within the Trump administration. In recent weeks, Trump has overseen the dismissal of multiple senior officials, including:

  • Former U.S. Army Chief of Staff Randy George
  • Former Attorney General Pam Bondi
  • Former Homeland Security Chief Kristi Noem

Firing of Randy George and Pam Bondi

On Thursday, Trump officially removed Randy George from his position as U.S. Army Chief of Staff. The decision, executed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, was later confirmed by the Pentagon, which announced George's immediate retirement. At the time of his dismissal, George had more than a year remaining in his term as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army.

Trump also dismissed Pam Bondi from her role as Attorney General. Bondi was reassigned to a "much-needed and important new job" within the private sector. According to The New York Times, Trump had previously considered removing Bondi due to dissatisfaction with her leadership, particularly criticizing her lack of assertiveness in targeting political opponents and her handling of the Epstein files.

Kristi Noem’s Transition

Kristi Noem’s departure occurred earlier when she was reassigned to a new position as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas. Trump confirmed this change in a post on Truth Social, where he also announced that Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma) would replace her as Homeland Security Chief. Mullin’s term began on March 31, 2026.

These recent personnel shifts highlight the ongoing restructuring within the Trump administration. The President continues to evaluate his leadership team and make adjustments in an effort to further his political agenda.
