Uncovered: DNC and RNC Pipe Bomb Suspect's First Picture Surfaces

The first image of the individual accused of placing pipe bombs at both the Democratic and Republican National Committees the night before the January 6, 2021, Capitol unrest was made public Thursday.

The FBI arrested 30-year-old Brian Cole from Virginia on Thursday morning, nearly five years after he was linked to the bomb incidents targeting the DNC and RNC.

Visual Evidence: Surveillance footage captured a figure wearing a hoodie, gloves, and a mask near the locations of the bomb placements. Despite the footage, authorities were unable to identify a suspect until recently.

According to the U.S. Attorneys Office, Cole faces charges for transporting explosive devices across state lines with intent to harm, intimidate, or destroy property, as well as for attempted malicious destruction using fire and explosives.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, This arrest is the result of thorough investigative work and cooperation on a case that remained unresolved for four years. The American public is safer due to this operation.

The FBI reportedly linked Cole to the scene using data from license plate readers and cell towers, which placed him near the crime locations on January 5, 2021, and showed his phone movements aligned with the suspect seen in the surveillance footage from that day.
