Bloom Energy's stock surged by 300% in 2025 as demand for clean, reliable energy solutions increased. The company's fuel cells are powering data centers, with strategic partnerships boosting growth. Bloom Energy's innovative technology positions it as a key player in the evolving energy sector.
Bloom Energy's stock experienced an extraordinary rise in 2025, climbing by 300% as demand for clean and reliable energy solutions intensified. The company's technology is gaining traction among data center operators, establishing Bloom Energy as a significant player in the provision of consistent, on-site power. This rapid growth is closely linked to the rising energy requirements of digital infrastructure, where continuous electricity is essential for maintaining data center operations.
Data centers, the backbone of cloud computing and digital services, rely on uninterrupted energy to sustain servers, cooling systems, and complex computational processes. As traditional power grids face instability, businesses increasingly seek alternative energy sources to ensure operational continuity. Fuel cells have become a preferred solution for these independent power needs, offering reliable, on-site generation capacity.
Bloom Energy has formed strategic collaborations with key industry players. The company is deploying next-generation fuel cells across 19 data centers operated by Equinix, while select Oracle cloud infrastructure sites are also incorporating Bloom Energy technology. Additionally, a $5 billion partnership with Brookfield focuses on supplying up to one gigawatt of clean power to advanced AI-focused data centers.
Financial Performance
In the third quarter, Bloom Energy reported revenue of $519 million, representing a 57% increase and marking the fourth consecutive quarter of record sales. Operating income reached $87 million, effectively reversing a previous deficit from the prior year and demonstrating substantial progress in profitability.
Expansion and Market Reach
Bloom Energy currently powers approximately 5 gigawatts of capacity through a network of 1,200 installations across six countries. These installations support data centers, utilities, and industrial clients with high-demand energy requirements. The company plans to expand manufacturing capacity to 2 gigawatts by 2026, with potential scalability reaching 5 gigawatts in the future.
Market projections indicate that U.S. data center electricity demand could increase to 106 gigawatts by 2035, up from 25 gigawatts in the previous year. This growth represents a significant opportunity for Bloom Energy, with even larger potential on a global scale. Strategic alliances, including the Brookfield collaboration, are expected to generate ongoing revenue streams while strengthening the company's position in key markets.
Investment Outlook
Despite market fluctuations, Bloom Energy's trajectory suggests sustained growth. The combination of rising electricity demand, expanding strategic partnerships, and innovative fuel cell technology positions the company for continued development. Although Bloom Energy is not currently included in the Motley Fool Stock Advisor's top ten picks, the company demonstrates potential for long-term returns, supported by its expanding client base and addressable market.
Overall, Bloom Energys growth in clean energy deployment, particularly in the data center sector, underlines its role as a resilient provider of reliable, on-site power. The companys financial performance, strategic partnerships, and expansion plans indicate that it remains a notable contender in the evolving energy landscape.
