COLLEGE STATION Texas A&M football continues to strengthen its roster as it aims for a College Football Playoff berth, announcing the addition of 25 scholarship players on Wednesday, highlighted by one five-star recruit.
Under head coach Mike Elko, this marks the Aggies' third early national signing day, resulting in the program securing the No. 9-ranked recruiting class in the nation after the first day of the early signing period. The official national signing day is set for February 4, 2026.
Alongside the 25 scholarship signees, Texas A&M added three athletes without financial aid agreements, including three-star kicker Asher Murray from Shreveport, Louisiana.
"Today is an exciting moment for young athletes across the country," Elko said. "Every year brings the same feeling its a special day that many kids dream about."
In total, the Aggies class features 13 offensive players, 13 defensive players, and two specialists. Within the Southeastern Conference, Texas A&M's class ranks fifth, trailing Alabama (No. 2), Georgia (No. 6), Texas (No. 7), and Tennessee (No. 8), according to 247Sports.
Top Recruit Highlights
Five-star edge rusher Tristian Givens from Columbus, Georgia, is the standout of the class. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Givens is ranked 26th nationally, sixth among edge rushers, and fourth in Georgia. He adds depth to a pass-rushing group replacing SEC sack leader Cashius Howell.
"Hes a long, athletic edge player with exceptional pass-rush ability," Elko noted. Givens will team up with fellow Georgia pass rusher Bryce Perry-Wright from Buford, who also signed Wednesday.
Another key addition is Brandon Arrington, a versatile athlete expected to play cornerback. Hailing from Spring Valley, California, Arrington broke the 200m Arcadia Invitational record with a 20.35-second run, surpassing Olympic champion Noah Lyles 2016 mark. "His combination of length and speed gives the secondary elite coverage," Elko said.
Givens, a three-sport athlete, helped Carver High reach the state basketball Final Four as an 11th grader, averaging 8.4 points and 5.4 rebounds. On the gridiron, he is described by 247Sports as a linear edge rusher with explosive take-offs and high pressure rate, capable of becoming a game-changer.

Analysis: Texas A&M’s Strong Recruiting Push and Future Implications
The Texas A&M Aggies have clearly set their sights on building a program capable of contending for the College Football Playoff, as evidenced by their impressive 2026 recruiting class. With the addition of 25 scholarship players, including a notable five-star edge rusher, the Aggies have made a significant statement early in the recruiting cycle. This marks the third consecutive early national signing day under head coach Mike Elko, further solidifying the program's upward trajectory.
The Aggies' recruiting class ranks ninth nationally and fifth within the Southeastern Conference, trailing only elite programs like Alabama and Georgia. The standout of the class is Tristian Givens, a five-star edge rusher from Columbus, Georgia. His addition addresses a key need on the defensive line, as Texas A&M looks to replace SEC sack leader Cashius Howell. Givens' combination of length, athleticism, and pass-rush ability makes him a potential game-changer in a highly competitive SEC environment.
Beyond Givens, the Aggies have also secured key players like Brandon Arrington, a versatile cornerback from Spring Valley, California, whose speed and length will bolster the secondary. With a well-rounded class that includes 13 offensive and 13 defensive players, Texas A&M is building a balanced roster that can compete across all facets of the game.
As the official national signing day approaches in February 2026, the Aggies' early success positions them well for future success. However, the true test will come on the field, where these recruits will need to quickly adapt to the collegiate level and contribute to the team’s push for a playoff berth.
